As part of their 2022 lineup ESP’s new additions to the range feature new finishes, signature models, and some favourites. Two new basses have been added to the LTD Signature Series. The LTD JC-4 is the new bass for John Campbell, founding member of American heavy metal juggernaut Lamb of God. Based on the ESP Stream body shape, the JC-4 has bolt-on construction at a 34” scale, using a swamp ash body and five-piece maple/purpleheart neck with Macassar ebony fingerboard. This well-balanced bass includes high-end components like Hipshot Ultralight tuners, a Hipshot A Style bridge with slotted saddles, and a set of Fishman SB-1 active pickups. It is available in a Dark Grey Metallic Satin finish.

Making a long-awaited return to the LTD lineup, the LTD Deluxe M-1004 bass takes the flat body, extra-thin neck, and pointed inline headstock of the M Series and offers it in a neck-thru-body bass at 35” scale with premier-level components including 24 stainless steel frets, Grover tuners, Gotoh bridge, a set of Fishman Fluence SB-1 active pickups, and is available in a Black finish.

LTD’s Phoenix Series basses have two new additions for 2022. The LTD Deluxe Phoenix-1004 is being made available in both Tobacco Sunburst Satin and Silver Sunburst Satin finishes, and includes neck-thru body construction at 34” scale, with a five-piece mahogany/walnut neck and mahogany body. These basses have LTD Vintage tuners, Gotoh bridge, brushed black pickguard, and a set of Fishman SB-1 active pickups with Neck Volume, Bridge Volume, and Tone controls with push/pull to select pickup voicings.

The popular LTD B Series has two new additions with the LTD B-4 Ebony and 5-string LTD B-5 Ebony.
Available in charcoal burst satin finish, these basses offer neck-thru-body construction, mahogany body with figured burled poplar top, a seven-piece maple/mahogany neck with ebony fingerboard, and a set of ESP Designed SB-4 active pickups (SB-5 on the 5-string model). Like other B Series basses, the new models include Volume and Balance controls along with a versatile ABQ-3 3-band EQ.

Similarly, ESP’s new LTD F-4 Ebony and LTD F-5 Ebony basses offer the same excellent set of features in the bold, angular F body shape. Also joining the F Series are the LTD Deluxe F-1004 and 5-string LTD Deluxe F-1005. Available in ‘see thru black cherry’ finish, these basses offer upgraded high-end components, like Grover tuners, Hipshot A-style bridge, stainless steel frets, and a set of Fishman Fluence SB-1 active pickups with controls that include Volume (with push/pull for splitting), Balance, Fishman 2-band EQ, and a 3-way mini switch for pickup voice selection.

Yet another F Series addition is the LTD F-4 Black Metal. This bass takes the extreme shape of the F Series and presents it in the diabolical design theme of the Black Metal series, with all-black finish, components, and hardware, and glow-in-the-dark side markers. The F-4 Black Metal has neck-thru-body construction at 35” scale, black binding on the neck and headstock, stainless steels frets, Grover tuners, a Gotoh bridge, and a single Fishman Fluence SB-1 pickup.

The LTD AP-4 and 5-string LTD AP-5 basses are now being offered in Candy Apple Red Satin finishes. These excellent basses are traditional bolt-on designs at 34” scale, and offer an alder body with maple neck and Macassar ebony fingerboard. Upgraded components for modern bass performance styles include Grover tuners, Babicz bridge, and a set of EMG P/LJ active pickups with brushed black chrome covers and Volume, Balance, and Tone controls.

The acclaimed LTD ’87 Series, which are faithful recreations of instruments from ESP’s 1987 catalogue, gets an addition with the LTD Surveyor ’87 bass, now available in Dark Metallic Purple finish. Paired with a Black Satin 1-ply pickguard, this bass looks great and sounds great with an alder body and maple neck built with bolt-on construction at 34” scale. Like the original from 1987, it includes a Gotoh bridge and a set of Seymour Duncan Vintage P and Vintage Jazz pickups, with Volume, Balance, and Tone controls.

Finally, a new finish is available in the GB Series basses. The LTD GB-4 is now being made available in ESP’s iridescent Violet Andromeda Satin finish with a brushed black pickguard. This bass has bolt-on construction at 34” scale, with a swamp ash body and maple neck. It features LTD vintage tuners, a Gotoh bridge, a set of Seymour Duncan SSB-4N pickups and a control set that includes Volume (with push/pull splitting), Balance, and EQ controls with Mid and stacked Bass/Treble frequencies.
